Like many modern love stories, ours began with a swipe. We were attending the same medical school, one year apart, but somehow had never officially met. We studied in the same buildings and attended the same lectures, yet it took the easiest Hinge ask of Harish’s life to finally bring us into the same room (though Harish insists he knew exactly who Madi was long before they met —Madi remains unconvinced).

What started as a first date quickly turned into many more, and before long, we realized we wanted to build a life together. Through busy rotations, exam schedules, residency applications, and the general chaos of medical training, we found our person.

Harish matched in Cleveland for Internal Medicine & Cardiology, and during Madi’s fourth year, he planned a thoughtful and romantic proposal at The Capital Hotel in Little Rock. She said yes—resoundingly. Five months later, Madi also matched in Cleveland for OB/GYN residency, bringing everything full circle.

Now, as we continue this next chapter together, we feel incredibly lucky that our paths crossed when they did. We can’t wait to celebrate with the people we love most.
